Supervised by: Di Elerton
A recreation of a novel series by Chris Colfer. Using 3D rendering as the main tactic, I managed to consistently communicate the mystical narrative, themes and general messages conveyed within each title.
In view of broadening my target audience, the central tone is made more dramatic and symbolic, while preserving the mysterious nature of the original design. A range of materials and techniques are incorporated to create a surprising “unboxing journey,” namely a matte-finished dust jacket, “Craquelure” on the hardcover and embossments on the box set.
This series is honoured enough to win the 70th Australian Book Design Awards 2022, under the category “Best Designed Student Series”.
